Tea Party and Maid Cafe.

I don't know if you would have time for it this year but would you please think about having a Maid cafe or a tea party. I have seen several other con's do this and some people come just for it. It has always been an exrta money event (you pay to go to it as well as the con) though I have always found them to have an unfair in price (30$ -50$ )I would like it if Mobicon would think about having one in the future. thank you.

KidKon put on a tea party for our fan guests last year which was open to all membership without an additional fee. I'm sure this wasn't the same thing you were talking about. Private Message me with more details as to exactly the format you're thinking and I will get it to either our director of programming if it should be hosted by his committee or to the appropriate department if it isn't appropriate for programming. Ok now this sounds like a lot of fun. I would love to do a maids cafe and I do think it would bring in both people and money. I would so love an excuse to get a maids costume made.
As for the tea party I have seen people buy their con passes just to go to one before but that was at a anime con and I don't know if Mobicon would be the same.
But all in all it's a really good idea.

A Tea Party and/or a Maid/Host Cafe would be a lot of fun! We could even have a Best Maid/Host costume contest!

We might not be able to get it on the schedule this year, but there has already been discussion for planning this event for MOBICON XIII. This sort of event requires a lot of coordination between the staff, hotel and participants. We would love to simply be able to say "Yes! We'll do that!" but the city, state and hotel have stringent requirements about food service.
